Ice In Poole Harbour
Просмотров 145Год назад
During a training session with the Maritime Volunteer Service we encountered sheet ice in Poole Harbour. There was a large sheet near Rockley and again near Pottery Pier on Brownsea Island. It wasn’t very thick, but there was a lot of it.

    My god Mr Parish, Rules of photography always have power lol. Buy yourself a liittle 240 Jackery keep mainly for your dinghy and if you do use it for something different make sure you put it back. I cary 1000w Jackery . I am 5ft4 and weigh a paper bag so this Jackery helps with weight at the front to. Your a fanboy like me of Donnie Wilcox. well my Jackery will last a week camping on remote islands. my iPad Pro I could charge over 20 times and still charge my iPhone every day, look for a second hand one. A guy in Northern Boats and SIBS was exceptionally lucky he got one in Liverpool for £400 used twice and gave up motorhoming. I very much doubt you would get one that cheap off FB market but he was lucky. Look into small portably power. You will always have power for vhf.phone,fishfinder. everything you carry. its one of my first things on my list to go. if its a GoPro you use it will charge while using. anyway good look with your fishing lol Ray K UK. @@123boat I’ve been flying model aircraft for donkey’s years, but the drone is quite different - it does not fly off if you let go of the sticks for a start! I built a quadcopter years ago when the flight controller were pretty much just gyros and that was difficult to fly. The drone is so much easier. The hard part for me was getting used to the idea of looking at the screen rather than at the drone.

    Hello Chris. I picked up a SIB for some summer fun. I’m located in the UK too. What do I need before it can be used legally on the coastline and rivers? Insurance, license etc? Any help would be much appreciated! 👍🙂

    • @mimiselphani
      @mimiselphani 3 года назад

      Hi! Here in the UK we have some of the most relaxed boating laws in the world. You don’t need anything if you want to use your boat in the sea, although it is advisable to obtain insurance. There is no licensing scheme for coastal use. Rivers are a different matter - you will need permits etc for many inland waterways such as the Thames. Pop over to f-ribsandsibs.com/forum/ where there are plenty of knowledgeable people who can help.

    • @mimiselphani
      @mimiselphani 3 года назад

      As far as we are aware it is the first time ever. From what we have been able to determine, the engine was donated to a school / college when it was new. They took it apart a few times before placing it on a stand somewhere (the discolouration on the lid shows that it was exposed to the sun from one side for a long time). It then got sold off. The person who bought it couldn’t get it to run as when it had been rebuilt by the school they had made some mistakes, so it sat unused for long long time. We bought it in 2017 as a pile of parts and reassembled it.

      Chris Parish hi Chris, sorry it’s me again, I’ve changed an impeller on a Yamaha before and there is a little hatch halfway down the leg which opens and you can undo a bolt that releases the gear shift rod so you can get the gearbox off after undoing the other bolts, I can’t see on the selva a way to do similar, I guess you need to release the gear shift some how to take the box off? Or does it employ a different way of doing it? thanks again Tom

    • @mimiselphani
      @mimiselphani 4 года назад

      doinnowt it is the same in that you have to release the gear shift. I’m not 100% sure (as my dad did the work) but I think that you lower the lower unit and that exposes a connector on the gear shift shaft.
